Effective date: April 11, 2026
Dial is a daily email newsletter operated by Jack Sullivan ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it. We aim to keep this straightforward.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To send you the newsletter |
| Topic preferences | To personalize your digest |
| Format preference | To match your reading style |
| Email engagement data (opens) | To understand what content works |
| Signup date | Account management |
| IP address | Collected automatically by our servers for security and rate limiting |
We do not collect your name, phone number, location, payment information, or browsing history. We do not buy data about you from third parties.
Your data is used to deliver and personalize the Dial newsletter, and to improve the service over time. That's it. We do not sell your email address or personal data to anyone. We do not share your data with advertisers in a way that identifies you personally.
When we include advertising in our emails, ad partners may receive aggregated topic data (e.g., "this email is about technology") for targeting purposes. Depending on the ad platform, your email address may be shared with the ad provider solely for the purpose of delivering the ad within our email. We do not sell your data to advertisers for their own marketing purposes.
We use the following services to operate Dial. Each processes some of your data on our behalf:
| Service | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Resend | Email delivery | Email address, email content |
| Supabase | Database | Email, preferences, account data |
| Anthropic | Content generation | Topic preferences (no email address) |
| Railway | Server hosting | Server logs (IP addresses) |
| Admailr / ad partners | Advertising | Topic data; email address may be shared for ad delivery |
We select providers with strong privacy and security practices. We do not share more data than necessary for each service to function.
Our website (getdialed.news) does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Our emails may include a small tracking pixel to measure open rates. We do not track clicks on links within our emails at this time.
If we add website analytics in the future, we will update this policy.
While you are subscribed, we retain your email address and preferences to deliver the service. If you unsubscribe, we retain a record of your email address in an inactive state to honor your opt-out and prevent accidentally re-subscribing you. We do not continue to send emails after you unsubscribe.
If you want your data fully deleted, email hello@getdialed.news and we will remove your record entirely within 30 days.
Regardless of where you live, you can:
Unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
Update your preferences using the preferences link in any email.
Request your data by emailing us. We will provide a copy of all data we hold about you.
Request deletion by emailing us. We will delete your data within 30 days.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our lawful basis for processing your data is your consent, provided when you sign up.
Dial is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete their data promptly.
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for our website and all API communications. Database access is restricted to authenticated services only. We do not store passwords because our service does not use password-based authentication.
If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also notify you via email.
For any privacy-related questions or requests, email us at hello@getdialed.news.
